Do Good and Share – Five Sentence Friday

Whenever I read these words I think of the first day of school.  Especially with Kindergartners.  We would always tell them to be good to one another and to share with their neighbors.  God has applied to same words to adults.  Maybe we forget, as time goes by.  Maybe we don’t know how.  But the words are the same whether they apply to a 6-year-old or a 60-year-old.

  1. Part of God’s plan for our lives is to do good and share.
  2. When I sacrifice my time for others God is pleased.
  3. Whether I forget or remember, it’s still a choice.
  4. Sharing is hard.  After all, it’s mine, isn’t it?
  5. Doing good is more than being nice.

Think about that last one for a moment.  To do good we need to know what other’s need.  It’s not something we can assume.  For instance, I can assume that someone who is on a fixed income will need milk and bread by the end of the month.  Providing that is an awesome thing but what if you add a special treat to that.  I really don’t know anyone who doesn’t like some homemade cookies.  This is beyond nice and good.  It’s saying, I care about you and want you to enjoy the good things in life.  I hope this makes sense and that you can find it in your heart to go out and do good for someone.

  1. Yes very True Marie and what we do for others we are doing for Jesus as confirmed in the Scripture below. Love is an Action not just a word and Kindness is part of Love and when we Love we will be Kind and not because we have to but because we want to.

    Matthew 25 : 31 -40 When the Son of man shall come in His glory and all the Holy Angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the Throne of His glory. And before Him shall be gathered all Nations and He shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. And He shall set the sheep on His right hand but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand; Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was an hungred and ye gave me meat, I was thirsty and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger and ye took me in. Naked, and ye clothed me, I was sick and ye visited me, I was in Prison and ye came unto me. Then shall the Righteous answer Him saying; Lord when saw we thee an hungred and fed thee? or thirsty and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger and took thee in? or naked and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick or in prison and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you; Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto Me.

  2. Hi Marie, How are you? I am very busy looking for a part time job hoping that St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services were I once volunteered for will hire me as a greeter or Secretary. So I am praying that they will and the teacher is wondering if I could make bibs for the children and adults. But to do that I would need some help. 

    I just finish a towel that needs to be washed and ironed and I will show it to you then. My father will be 80 on October 21 my mother asked me to make the same picture for my father on a regular towel only it will have different ice cream than the one I just finished.

  3. Today I spent some time with a very wonderful lady that is my neighbor. Vickie’s husband past away in April; and left her with the huge task of going through his prized possessions. Some of these possessions my husband was able to help her sort out too, like electronic equipment, tools, and ‘manly items’. But when I showed up this morning with a cheesecake danish, she was pleasantly surprised; and we sat and had our cake with coffee before moving her kitchen. It is these quiet conversations between friends, especially two women, that mean the most. My heart is full with the spirit. And so was hers. We still have some work to do; and I will be glad to help until she is completely settled. Thank you for reminding me to ‘be helpful and mindful’ of my fellow sisters. hugs, queeny

    • I love the times I get to spend with my sweet sisters in Christ. This forever family is really amazing, isn’t it? Cheesecake danish…YUMMO!!!
