April 7, 2018 Doing pretty well with no sugar and no wheat. I read an interesting article about Diet Pop (Soda). It’s definitely not good for me (or you). If you’re interested check out 10 Reasons to Give Up Diet Soda. I’m going to go with tea (sweetened with a little honey), coffee, fruit juice, and lots of water. I do feel good and was able to stay awake this morning rather than wanting to go back to bed. Getting the sugar out of my body will allow me to feel less sluggish. Perhaps, even, give me energy enough to go for a walk.
April 5, 2018 I need to lose weight. I want to lose weight. I want to wear my wedding ring again and panti-hose that fit. I know that losing weight will bring my high blood sugar count down. I know that a healthy diet and exercise will do what I want. That’s why I’m writing this page. I’m going to share the steps I’m taking to make this happen. I firmly believe the right diet will help me conquer this disease. (And some exercise won’t hurt either.)
The right diet is always one of the challenges. However, several years ago a read a book called God’s Diet. (I’ve included the link to the book on Amazon but I receive no remuneration for recommending it and/or you buying it.) I stayed on that diet for nearly 3 years. It’s an awesome diet. One can eat any and all they want except for wheat and refined sugar. As the author (Dorothy Gault-McNemee) says, “If you can’t pick it, pluck it, pull it from the earth, or scale it, don’t eat it.” I lost a great deal of weight and then life came tumbling in, stress got the best of me and I once again succumbed to sugar and wheat. I’ll be doing the diet again because it’s so easy and it really does work. (I lost a great deal of weight, so I know it works!)
