The Difference

There is a difference between believing and knowing. I believe that God is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do. I know that He has redeemed me with the blood of His precious Son.

Believing is holding an opinion without having a way to prove it. Knowing is an understanding that is backed up with solid evidence and trust in the source of that evidence. That’s a strong academic statement so let me see if I can explain.

When I sit down on a chair I instinctively know that it’s there. Since I can’t see behind me I have no way of proving that until I sit down. I simply know that the chair is there and totally trust it will hold my weight.

So how do I know that God is really God, that He really can do all He says, that He redeemed me? That requires a special kind of relationship and that’s the key. I have built a relationship with Him. How? I spend time with Him, in the Word. I talk with Him, in prayer. I discuss Him with other Believer’s.

Blessings to you and yours!

What D’ya Know!

I Know…

What do I know?

I know that the sun will come up every morning until Jesus returns and provides all the light we need.

I know that I am loved by the Lover of my soul.

I know I am redeemed, equipped, gifted, and forgiven.

I know I am given all that I need for a good life because God’s Word is alive and active in me.

I know I am a child of God and that I can go to Him with every joy, hurt, and question in my heart.

I know that He knows you and me! Do you?

Abba, Father, I know You are all You say You are! Help me to be all You want me to be.

Hear HIM

Can you hear ME?

Are you intentionally listening to Jesus?

You might be asking, how do I do that? There are so many ways.

First, surround yourself with Him, with His Word, in prayer and daily worship. Be determined to take anything out of your life that is not all about Him. Carefully choose what you read, what you hear, what you see, who you’re with …

He loves to talk to us. We only need to be determined to hear!

Abba, Father, open our hearts, minds, and souls to Your voice! Grant us the ability to know what You are saying. We want to hear You!

Faith’s Fragrance

bottle-242364_640 (1)But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.  For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing…2 Corinthians 2:14-15

Have you ever thought about having a spiritual aroma?  Our perfume smells like Christ to God.  I know what Christ smells like, I think.  He is the scent of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  That’s what God smells!

So, if we are fragrant with the knowledge of Him in every place, then, others can smell that on us.  It’s like meeting someone who is exuding the nicest perfume you’ve ever encountered.  When that happens to me I know I’m going to like that person and want what she has.  In the same way other’s will want what we have when we are ‘wearing the fragrance’ of God.

This little story explains this concept very well.  It was written by Dr. Chris Edwardson, from Dallas, Oregon, in the Pentecostal Evangel:

One day a judge came to my office.  I asked him what he was really in for because his leg cast didn’t need to be checked.

He said, “I just thought maybe you could give me a reason to live.”  He broke down and cried.  I led him to the Lord.

I asked him what prompted him to tell me that.  He said, “When you walked into the room, I saw something in your eyes that told me you had what I wanted.  Something told me you knew the answer to life.  I look in men’s faces all day long, judging the truth.  I could see that you believed with all your heart that what you were telling me was true.  It was enough to convince me I needed it.

My prayer is that our Faith Fragrance is so powerful it can’t be missed by anyone!

Blessings to you and yours!
