This poem was written by our pastor for yesterday’s Worship Service.
We need all the grace and mercy God has to give.
Father, heal our land!

What is grace?
The very best way to answer this question is to search the Word. In doing that I found there is more to grace than the standard answer of ‘undeserved favor’.
Paul, the Apostle of Grace, uses the word 86 of the 131 times it’s used in the ESV of the Bible. It is used more than the word forgiveness. (109 times in the ESV.) To me that says it’s really an important concept.
As for underserved favor, it is certainly that. It is basically a free gift, from God, that we did nothing to deserve. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:15 NLT
There is another part of grace that we don’t always think about. Grace is God’s power to change our ability to live an obedient life. Paul explains it really well in 2 Corinthians 9:8 – And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. This aspect of grace is not only about treating people better than they deserve (Yes, we’re supposed to do that, too.). It’s about the ability to accept practical help, from God, when we need it, to use for the purpose He has for our lives.
Think about His love, think about His goodness, think about His grace, that’s brought us through. (Click on the blue letters to link to Don Moen’s beautiful song.)
Abba, Merciful, Wonderful Savior, thank You for the gift of grace. Show us where You want us to do the work You have planned for us. Send us out to share Your undeserved favor.

Is God changing you?
All of us have things in our lives that keep us from the change God desires for us. Then how do we overcome these habits, addictions, thoughts, behaviors …?
We are transformed, changed when we ask God to help us know what is good, acceptable, and perfect in every situation we encounter. When He answers, and He will answer, we must follow through in obedience to His Word and His Will.
It’s all about grace! God wants us to come to Him in every situation that threatens to ruin us. He wants to guide us in all that is causing us to fall short. His grace, forgiveness, and never-ending love are ours. We only need to let Him in.
It’s all about grace! We’ve done nothing to deserve grace. He just gives it. It’s part of who He is.
Abba, Father, forgive us when we fall short. Give us strength to make the changes You want. Shower us with Your grace!

Acts 20:24 My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the LORD Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
God’s purpose and plan for my life demand that I tell others about Jesus. That includes what He did on the cross and what He’s doing in my life right now.
GRACE – God’s Redemption At Christ’s Expense
The Good News encompasses several parts of Jesus’ life:
His birth – Luke 2
His life – Matthew Mark Luke John
His death and resurrection – Luke 22, 23, 24
His return – Matthew 24
What in your life can be shared to show Jesus is alive and active in it? What miracles, large and small, will you share with others for the purpose of telling about Jesus? Are you modeling Jesus’ life with yours?
Blessings to you and yours!

I haven’t done a Musical Monday post for a while. These are some of my favorite songs right now. If they’re not on your playlist they should be. If you don’t have a Youtube account click on the word (Youtube) and it’s easy to create one.
For God so loved the whole wide world
Sent His only Son to die for me
Arms spread wide for the whole wide world
His arms spread wide where mine should be
JESUS CHANGED MY DESTINY!
You unravel me, with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance, from my enemies
Till all my fears are gone
Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
I hope you enjoy some quiet reflection with these beautiful songs.
Blessings to you and yours!
Marie
