WE CANNOT OUT-SIN HIS FORGIVENESS!!!!
For Heaven’s sake don’t even think that I would ever suggest even trying. One of the ways we get ever closer to Jesus likeness is our whole-hearted desire not to sin. But we are human and we are sinful and that’s something we simply can’t ignore!
In Psalm 103:2-3 David tells us that we are not to forget His benefits and one of these is the forgiveness of sin. For me, David’s words speak mountains of truth about forgiveness. His story helps us understand that even the one (David) who had a Heart like His could and would sin! David depended on God’s forgiveness, asked for it and it was given. Fully!
God is the God of the second, third, forth….chance. Take a look at Jonah 1:1-3. God told him to go to Ninevah and preach against its wickedness. Jonah tried to run away and had the adventure and epiphiny of his life. (Yes, my God is the Only One who could keep a man alive in the ‘belly of a whale’!) Jonah 3:1 says the LORD spoke to him a second time and said go to Ninevah and proclaim the wickedness of the Ninevites. Jonah obeyed! God will forgive our disobedience but does expect to eventually obey.
Jesus tells us clearly in Matthew 6:14-15 that we must forgive others when they sin against us. If we don’t the consequence is to big to imagine…the Father will not forgive us. We are to be the picture of God to those around us. If there is no way to out-sin God’s forgiveness then there is no sin of another that we can’t forgive.
Mighty, Awesome, Forgiving LORD! Forgive my sins, the ones I know and the ones I don’t. Give me Your super-natural ability to forgive those who have and will sin against me in some way. Nurture in me a heart of forgiveness! Make it so!!!
Hi Marie, today there is much confusion and many have been deceived by Cults and worldly teaching and others just have itching ears. Some claim we have to work for our Salvation and they teach Sinless perfection without understanding what it really means, others teach we sin till we die that there is no escape we are just forgiven but both are rejecting God’s Truth in the Scriptures and are trusting in their own or others fleshy understanding or false teachers deception.
John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
As we can see Marie in the Scriptures I have shared with you now and before, they show clearly we do not continue to sin and there are many more that confirm this Truth, we have freedom in Christ Jesus and are no longer under the bondage and slavery of sin. What some people do is mistake their weakness and shortcomings as sin and of course Satan wants us to feel condemned and trapped in sin and continue to do so, God tells us as a man thinks in his heart so he does. We do not have to earn the free gift of Salvation but we will show we have it.
1John 3: 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
God also tells us to reckon ourselves dead to sin, which means we do not say that we will continue to sin, this is a contradiction to what He asks us to do. There is no Temptation that as a redeemed Child of God that we will not be able to bear, Jesus has provided the way for us to walk in Victory and freedom by His sacrificial death, when we have the Holy Spirit we walk as Jesus did and that is in Holiness and Righteousness 1John3 …How good is that!
1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.
2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace; and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

I agree Marie we cannot loose God’s Love and yes He will rescue the lost sheep who have heart repentance, which means we turn from evil and do good by The Holy Spirit’s empowering, we will show we have His Salvation in our lives when we are perfected in Love and we will walk as He walked on earth which was in Love and Holiness, we will be like Him. Many mistake weaknesses and shortcomings as sin, if it were so I would be the greatest sinner or they promote man’s legalism, their rules and regulations as sin.
1John 4:16-17 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.
Romans 6:5-7 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Romans 6:18-20 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
We reap what we sow Marie, if good than Joy, if bad than sorrow, which King David experienced, he married Pagan wives and his children to them were not righteous, even Solomon followed his example in marriage and God does not override our free will we choose to obey Him. God knew David’s heart was for Him but unlike us who have The Holy Spirit and have put our flesh to death, his flesh had control, but we have been set free from the slavery of sin (see below) and we reckon ourselves dead to it, it does not have control, The Holy Spirit does , so no temptation will be greater that we can bear.
1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.
1 John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

HI Anne!
Well said! I know I am a sinner and that’s why repentence, sometimes on a daily basis, is so necessary. Knowing that I’m forgiven makes it a bit easier to deal with my sins, but I never try to sin because I’m forgiven. Thanks for the Word’s of Wisdom. Marie
