Getting the Blessing

Deuteronomy 30 was my reading portion of the Word today.  This is a very powerful passage.  Have you ever questioned what is necessary to receive God’s blessing?  Do you think simply believing in Jesus will do it for you?  Will all the good things you do get it for you?  The answer is quite simply…

GOD, your God, will cut away the thick calluses on your heart and your children’s hearts, freeing you to love God, your Whole heart and soul and live really live.  God, your God, will put all these curses on your enemies who hated you and were out to get you.  (See Chapter 27)

And you will make a new start, listening obediently to GOD, keeping all His commandments that I’m commanding you today.  GOD, your God, will outdo Himself in making things go well for you: you’ll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life.  Yes, God will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as He enjoyed doing it for your ancestors.

But only if you listen obediently to GOD, your God, and keep the commandments and regulations written in this Book of Revelation.  Nothing half-hearted here: you must return to GOD, your God, totally, heart and soul, holding nothing back.

This commandment that I’m commanding you today isn’t too much for you, it’s not out of your reach.  It’s not on a high mountain–you don’t have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it.  And it’s not across the ocean–you don’t have to send sailors out to get it, bring it back, and then explain it before you can live it.  No.  The word is right here and now–as near as the tongue in your mouth, as near as the heart in your chest.  Just do it!

Look at what I’ve done for you today: I’ve place in front of you

Resurrection

Life and Good

                                         Death and Evil

                              Cross+bridge+christ-e1328133861855

And I command you today: Love GOD, your God.  Walk in His ways.  Keep His commandments, regulations, and rules so that you will live, really live, live exuberantly, blessed by GOD, your God, in the land you are about to enter and possess.

If you’ve gotten to this point you’ve read through these verses from The Message and know the secret to receiving the blessings.  It’s simply love God and know His word so that you can walk in total harmony and obedience with Him.

I’m choosing life, abundant, exuberant, joyous, thrilling, delightful life!  How about you?

Heavenly Father, I love Your Word.  Thank You for breathing onto paper so I would know Your desires.  I am so blessed.  Oh, GOD, You are my God!  Because of Jesus I lift these praises before the Throne.  Amen and amen!

  1. Absolutely! A conscious effort must be made to follow the Lord, and when it is, look no further than his words in the bible. He himself said that his ways are not the ways of the world. To look anywhere else for spiritual guidance is to create a state of confusion for oneself.

  2. How very True Marie, when you Love someone you want to be with them , you talk about them and you don’t want to hurt them in anyway and you get your brag book out , my is called the Bible and I Love sharing about my Abba Father and Jesus my Spiritual Husband and yes The Holy Spirit who empowers me and comforts me, The Godhead or Trinity as They are called today .

God is conforming us into the image not just a reflection of His Son Jesus Christ and we will walk as He walked in Truth and righteousness and so we will be Holy but not just when we are dead but now, Jesus has set us free from the slavery of sin, as we choose we are empowered to turn from evil and do good, God does not just sap us!. Why wouldn’t we want to tell everyone the best news they will ever hear but will they listen , they didn’t listen to Jesus instead they killed Him and He tells us they will hate us too and try to stop us sharing in anyway they can but we do not walk alone and what they do to us they are doing to Jesus and He will not be mocked, so we don’t have to seek revenge, they will do it to themselves but we can pray they come to their senses.

  3. Thank you Marie, your message it’s reaffirming what Jesus taught about our undivided love for God and reinforces what Moses had already said in Deut 30 If God says it and then is backed up by Jesus, I think its a message for us to heed. that is, let nothing come in the way, between us and God’s place in our life.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Blessings
    Ron.

    • Hi Ron! I am always delighted when I find a new Old/New Testament connection. I agree with you totally. When both God and Jesus say it it is a double whammy and we better be paying attention. Blessings to you, Ron!

Thank you Marie for a powerful Truth filled message and one we must not overlook or take lightly………

    So what are God’s commands…….

Matthew 22 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt Love thy Neighbour as thyself. On these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets………Christian Love from both of us -Anne

  5. Hi Marie thank you for a powerful Truth filled message and one we must not overlook or take lightly.

On these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

When we keep these two great Commandments we are keeping all of God’s Commandments and with having God’s seed or Nature and being perfected in Love and also having the mind of Christ ( see below ) we will want too keep them and will choose to keep them.

1John 3 : 9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9-16 For who hath known the Mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? but we have the Mind of Christ.

Where do we start, it is as you shared Marie……

Jeremiah 29:12-14 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD:

Is there anything we have to do to be perfected in Love, Yes, or does God just Sap us, No, He never goes against our free will, we choose to turn from evil and do good and so put our flesh to death but we can’t do this without the empowering of the Holy Spirit and He also motivates us to do good but not legalistically, only from Love.

So how do we receive The Holy Spirit, Jesus said we don’t have because we don’t ask and He also said ask and we will receive and because we believe in Him and have heart repentance and we will do this because we will see ourselves as we really are in the flesh but we will also believe Jesus is our Saviour and that He has set us free from the slavery of sin, this means we can choose to no longer sin and the Spirit will empower us not to and then Jesus will lift us up and show us how beautiful we are in Him ……..

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?

Galatians 5 :24 -25 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Romans 8 :12-15 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. or if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

How can we know if we have The Holy Spirit, by our Love but that does not mean we agree with evil, we stand up against it and warn others and correct error in teaching when needed, Jesus did and yes He was hated and so will we be. He tells us how we treat others is how we are treating Him, which needs to be in Love and this includes not slandering them, back biting and baiting them and deliberately tying to frustrate and hurt them and so provoking them to anger and doing all this deliberately with the intention to hurt and prove ourselves better, instead we put others first in Love always.

1 John 4:20-21 If a man say, I Love God, and hateth his brother/sister, he/she is a liar, for he that Loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he Love God whom he hath not seen? And this Commandment have we from Him, That he who Loveth God Love His brother/sister also.

Thank you for your Love Marie and for accepting others as people of worth and not letting their personal problems prevent this, Jesus died for us all even when we were still sinners and in a mess. I will look forward to our cup of coffee in Heaven or before.

    • Hi Anne! I often teach these concepts (that you wrote about above). We have no options where love is concerned and like has nothing to do with it. Jesus and God said, love Me and love one another. For me love is mostly about doing what is best for the other person and taking myself out of the picture. I also add Matthew 28:18-20. I believe this to be the third commandment of the Testament…Go and tell! Jesus said I have been given all authority and I am commanding (Greek imperative language in the original) you to do this. This makes sense because when we love someone we’re going to talk about them to other people. Jesus is pretty much saying do what you always do. Talk about the people you love. Therefore, since I love Jesus, I am going to talk about Him. Much Agape to both of you! Marie
