If I could choose one word that would define my life it would be integrity. Is it possible to live a Christian life without this moral characteristic? I don’t think so. Let me explain…
Personal integrity is about making the right choices with the right thoughts based on Christ’s life and model. We can all make the right choice but is that choice in line with what I know of Biblical living. In other words is it ‘What Jesus Would Do’?
Integrity is about personal motivation. It is about personal choices that reflect inner beliefs. It is the desire to do the right thing when you know everyone and everything around you is going to disagree with your choice. Are my actions and deeds motivated by my Lord and His Word? Am I displaying the ‘Mind of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 2:17) in all I think, do and say? Is God’s will my will?
Integrity is so important, isn’t it? You’re right that it involves doing the right thing even when people disagree; I would also suggest that it involves not doing the wrong thing even when no one is watching. As you point out, it all comes down to Christ’s image reflected in us. Thanks for linking with us at Grace & Truth!

Jesus warned us Marie that when we stand up for God’s Truth and live righteously we will be persecuted even by our families, I was from the time I started going to Church, my family except for my brother Alfred are into Pagan Buddhism and so we we don’t fit in, they don’t consider us as part of the family now that Mum has died, although I pray that they will come to their senses and repent, they are very materialist, money is their god.

Anne, my heart breaks for you! I have been blessed to have Believers around me since childhood. That does not mean I haven’t been persecuted because sometimes being a person of integrity causes oppression from others. Back to family…I do have nieces and nephews who don’t believe, in fact one is a professed wican (witch). It amazes me that children can be raised in good Christians homes and still not be Believers. But then everyone is given the choice. Make it a great day sweet friend. As you know so well, God is with you all the time.

Tank you Marie a great focus, I’m not perfected in Love yet but I am aiming for it, so yes I agree with you, Integrity in all things is very important, it’s a choice we need to make the same as putting God and others first.

Thanks Anne! It’s interesting but the thought just crossed my mind that sometimes when I’ve chosen integrity I’ve been ‘persecuted’ because of that choice. Hmmmmm…. Blessings to you and yours!

I absolutely agree with you and this is something that I have taught my children. One’s character and integrity is so very important.

One of the most important things I have learned in life is that integrity must be taught to our children. It’s definitely not something they come up with themselves and I applaud you for the tough job you’ve undertaken in teaching your own. Blessings to you and yours!

Such a great message! I pray that my daughter (and other recent graduates) as she/they leave home for the first time, off to college, continue asking themselves these questions.
