5 Sentence Friday – Judging Others

I’ve given a lot of thought to judging others lately.  It seems our culture wants us to not be openly judgmental.  That somehow it’s against God’s Word.  I’ve concluded it is not. We are human.  We will judge but, we need to be sure we are doing so in line with what God/Jesus has to say about it (John 5:30).

  1. Jesus was totally human and totally God. He judged.  I am totally human.  I judge.
  2. It is not wrong to judge.
  3. When judging we have to take ourselves out of the situation making it ALL about the other person, and what is best for them.
  4. When we choose to judge we must know His Word to know His will.’
  5. I can do nothing apart from God.  NOTHING!!!

So there you have it, with a final thought.  Knowing the Word is paramount to knowing God’s will.  Stay in the Word, my friends.

Blessings to you and yours!

  1. Yes Marie to do as God asks us to do we need to judge but we don’t judge critically others shortcomings and weaknesses, we all have them and when we do it’s our plank that is bigger than their speck. We also don’t judge anyone’s eternal Destiny, they may come to Heart repentance on their death bed by the good seeds that have been planted in their lives as some have done and of course more than we know only, God knows our Heart.

But God does tell us to rebuke those who Sin and correct error and warn of danger, to do so we have to judge them but we do this in Love and for Love remembering we too were forgiven. It is not Love to watch Satan gets a foothold in someones life and just look the other way, we are all responsible for keeping the Church pure too, starting with ourselves but we do not rebuke etc using a fleshy agenda but with God’s Truth as confirmed in Scripture.

2 Timothy 4 : 2-3 Preach the Word be instant in season, out of season reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.

James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the Truth, and one convert him, let him know that he which converteth the Sinner from the error of his way shall save a Soul from death and shall hide a Multitude of Sins.

Proverbs 9:8 Reprove not a scorner lest he hate thee rebuke a Wise man and he will Love thee. .(KJV)

Ecclesiastes 7:4-6 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.(KJV)

Ezekiel 33 :8 – 9 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquit; but his blood will I require at thine hand, Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it if he do not turn from his way he shall die in his iniquity but thou hast delivered thy Soul.

  2. Wondering about that scripture: Judge not, lest you be judged. Discerning, yes.all in line with Scripture. I heard once that unless it hurts you just as much, don’t confront. That way we do come at it with humility and for the other’s best.
