Ancient Words

Equipped and ready!

Are you? God’s Word is so important to our daily walk. It teaches us all we need for everything that happens each day. It reminds us of our shortcomings and corrects us when we need it. It trains us in making the right choices.

We are God’s servants. We need to know what He expects of us and the only way to do that is to read and use His Word!

Abba, Father, thank You for providing the perfect plan for our lives in Your Word. Plant in our hearts a passionate desire to know You and Your Word!

…ever true, changing me and changing you

Ebenezer

Can you imagine naming a stone?

Samuel named the stone Ebenezer. It literally means ‘stone of help’.

It is a reminder of God’s protection and power. It is a symbol of the help God will provide when we trust Him.

It is a stone of remembrance reminding us that God is our help.

We can place our own Ebenezer when we remember the times God has helped us through the ‘tough stuff’ of our lives.

Abba, Father, You are all-powerful and the help we need in these trying and troubling times. Direct and protect us through this day!

Read 1 Samuel 7 for the rest of the story.

Come Thou Fount

Hear HIM

Can you hear ME?

Are you intentionally listening to Jesus?

You might be asking, how do I do that? There are so many ways.

First, surround yourself with Him, with His Word, in prayer and daily worship. Be determined to take anything out of your life that is not all about Him. Carefully choose what you read, what you hear, what you see, who you’re with …

He loves to talk to us. We only need to be determined to hear!

Abba, Father, open our hearts, minds, and souls to Your voice! Grant us the ability to know what You are saying. We want to hear You!

Valued by God

Are you aware of your value?

You are valuable because of who you are. God chose you as His child before anything else was created. (Ephesians 1:4)

You are valuable because of the great cost of your life. He gave His only Son for you. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

You are valuable because He knows what you can become. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Abba, Father, thank You for placing such great value in us. Help us grow and become what You have planned.

Thought Control

Who are you seeking when you need answers?

It is ever so difficult to control our thoughts. In fact, it is a constant battle. So, then, ‘think on whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy, and good’ (Philippians 4:8).

Thinking about what is tearing you apart keeps you from concentrating on the One who is holding you together.

Abba, Father, control our thoughts today. Hold us close. Invade our minds with Your love, care, and peace!
