Let My People Go!

This morning I was having a great cup of coffee and spending some time just enjoying reading His Word.  This is something I do every morning.  I have no plan for reading through in 90 days or a year I just read and let Him get into my mind and heart with whatever He needs me to know at that point.  When I’ve finished I just start all over and read the Bible again.  Today I was reading in Exodus about the Plagues and found some very interesting concepts (Even though I’ve read these words many times before He always adds something new for me to think about.).

Sometimes, because of the way our Bibles are divided into chapters, I miss something interesting.  At the beginning of Exodus 7 God said to Moses ‘Look at Me’. In the last verse of the chapter before Moses had said to God ‘Look at Me’.  Can’t you just see God smiling in this exchange of words.  Look at me, NO Look at Me!  You’re saying you stutter, I AM saying I’ll make you like a god to them.  one-upmanship at it’s best….

In Exodus 10 Pharaoh’s servants have had enough.  They want to know how long Pharaoh is going to let this go on.  There is basically nothing left of their country.  What wasn’t taken by boils and hail was eaten by flies, gnats and locusts.  It didn’t matter to Pharaoh, even though he called Moses back and said OK you can go, God kept him stubborn as ever.

In the 9th Plague God puts a thick darkness on the land of Egypt.  So thick the Word says it was so dark you could touch it.  Can you imagine what fear that would cause?  Ray and I have experienced that kind of darkness, literally.  We’ve been deep in caves under the surface of the earth when the guide turns off the lanterns.  Let me tell you, it’s so dark it can be felt.  Here’s something I find interesting.  The exchange between Moses and Pharaoh is enlightening (pun intended).  Pharaoh says, “Get out of my sight!”  Moses says, “You won’t see my face again.”  After darkness so dark it was blinding, no one could even move because it was so dark, Pharaoh says I don’t want to see you again…Hm-m-m-m!

Before the Plague of Death Moses gives Pharaoh God’s words about the Death to come.  This is powerful stuff!  The first-born will be killed.  This is a huge punishment in this culture and time.  Everything belonged to the first-born.  But, once again, Pharaoh gets stubborn.  Death sweeps through Egypt, saving only the Israelites, and still Pharaoh refuses to act.  Everyone else does, though.  They beg the Israelites to leave giving them jewelry and clothing for the trip.

Isn’t it the same with us.  Aren’t we a bit like Pharaoh?  He truly believed in his god-status and wasn’t about to let the Real One get the upper hand.  When we say my way or the highway, I know what works for me, don’t tell me how to do this or that…aren’t we acting like Pharaoh?

Worship the One and Only with me in song – –Days of Elijah  (Just click on the title)

Heavenly Father speak to me.  You know me and know what I need to ‘hear’.  Open my ears, eyes, mind, heart and soul to what You would have me know from the Words You have ‘breathed’ onto paper.  Make it so, Lord!

God Is Who HE Says He Is!!!

thI read the article “Higgs-Boson Particle May Spell Doom” and wondered – really?  Is God so small that He can be a tiny speck created by a collision in the Large Hedron Collider?  Can the theories created by this possible discovery predict the end of the universe and time as we know it?

Let me tell you what I personally know about my God.  HE is not one tiny little particle.  HE is everywhere, in everything and every one, ALL the time.  He is the ONLY One who knows the time of the end and since He didn’t share it with Jesus (Matthew 24:36) I’m very sure it hasn’t been discovered in a mathematical theory based on a teeny-tiny speck that may or may not exist.th (1)

How about on a more personal level.  How do I know God is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do?  I survived a dysfunctional childhood because I knew HE is always with me (Even though at that point I hadn’t publicly accepted Him as my personal savior.)  HE was carefully holding me when a tornado ripped our first home apart, turned it on it’s roof, and I was on the inside.  HE was watching and protecting me when a truck ran a stop sign going the full speed limit and T-boned my car, making it a total loss.  The three people on the inside were kept safe with just a few minor injuries.  At a hearing where my personal integrity was being questioned and my job at stake HE showed up, made His presence known with what felt like the slightest breath of fresh air, and all charges against me were dropped.  He was present during the 20 days I sat by my husband Ray and waited for him to wake from a coma.  It was only with His incredible downloadstrength that kept me from being a crazy, sobbing lump as those days went by.  Not only did Ray wake with all his mental facilities, He is a walking, talking Miracle.  I know He is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do because I’ve seen Him at work!

Worship Him in Song: How Great Is Our God (in several languages)

Heavenly Father, You Are the I Am!  You are Jehovah Jirah, my Provider.  You are the Is, the Was, and the Always Will Be.  You are my Rock, my Fortress, my Shepherd, my always present Help.  Ah, Lord, God, what a humbling honor it is to be called Your own.  I give You all my praise, my heart, my life, my all.  Amen and Amen!!

Sisters

Dear, dear family, I came across this beautiful example of loving one another and sharing life’s meaning recently.  Please, pass it on to your own friends.  The message is simply – – we need one another.  Jesus said, when answering the question what is the greatest commandment,  “Love God and Love one another”.  (Matthew 22:37-40)  There is no better way to fulfill the basic human need for love than to just do it!

mother daughter

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and and visiting with her mother.  As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter..

“Don’t forget your sisters,” she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass.  “They’ll be more important as you get older.  No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need sisters.  Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.”

“Remember that ‘sisters’ means ALL the women…your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too.  “You’ll need other women.  Women always do.”

The young woman thought this was a funny piece of advice.  Haven’t I just gotten married?  Haven’t just joined the couple-world?  I’m now a married woman! A grown-up!  Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!

But she listened to her mother.  She kept contact with her sisters and made more sisterswomen friends each year.  As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her mother really knew what she was talking about.  As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world this list says it all:

BUT……..Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you, a girl friend is never farther than needing her can reach.  When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley’s rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley’s end.  Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you…Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family: ALL BLESS OUR LIFE!

The world wouldn’t be the same without women, and neither would I… When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead.  Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

Worship Him in music – – From Sister Act 2

Heavenly Father, You created us to need one another.  You knew there would be a special bond between us.  LORD, let us understand and know what You would have Your Sisters do and be.  Let us share Your Agape (the kind of love that puts the other first) love with all.  Make it so!

Conversation Hearts

hearts 6God so wants a relationship with us!  He sent His One and Only Son for Heaven’s sake (pun intended).  As I pondered fitting posts for this week of love my mind went to those little conversation hearts that are still given for Valentines treats. I’m sure you will be able to name even more scriptures that go with them and I encourage you to keep on looking.

Looking at the picture above John 3:16 instantly popped into my mind.  What is real  love?  Caring more about someone else’s needs before your own.  That ‘s what God did.  He loved the world so much He gave us Jesus.  That’s real love.

hearts 5Only God!  He is Omnipotent (The One and Only).  He is Omniscient (All knowing).  He is Omnipresent (Everywhere all the time).

???????????????????????????????????????God wants us to communicate with Him.  On a daily, hourly basis.  He wants us to include Him in everything we think do and say.   Prayer is one of the ways we communicate with Him.  Philippians 4:6 tells us to go to God with every request we have.  Matthew 7:7-8 Tells us to ask and it will be given to us, seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened.  Each of those phrases requires an action that shows our desire to communicate with God.

Communicate with our Lord through music….Pray On!

Ah, Lord God, You see us, You hear us, You know us, You love us!  You are the reason for our very lives.  Oh, LORD humble us.  Make us aware that You want us to talk with You.  Keep our lives from being all about us and make them all about You.  Make it so!

Fellow seekers and worshippers if you do not know my Jesus and this worship experience moved you to know more of him…Do you understand that we all sin?  Do you believe that Christ died for those sins and is the One and Only, Son of God?  Are you ready to be washed and made whiter than snow?  Ready to grow in knowledge and understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ?  The say the following prayer out loud, wherever you are.  Then let another believer know so you can become a part a worshipping fellowship.  I welcome you as a part of my forever family.  You have received the crown of life eternal.

Heavenly Father I come to You in the Name of Jesus.  I acknowledge my sins and ask Your forgiveness for them.  I believe that Jesus is the Christ, that He died to save me from sin, that I will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.  I believe that You have forgiven me and want to bring glory and honor to You.  According to Your gracious and merciful spirit I will proclaim that I AM SAVED.  Amen and amen!

If you have determined to accept Jesus as you personal Savior and One and Only God, let me know.  I’d love to stay in contact.
